West Coast Holidays Guide
Western Australia, Australia
Coral Bay to Broome is a 1300km stretch of monumental sunset coastline that meets the warm crystal waters of the Indian Ocean. With white sandy beaches set against the unique native bushland and red earth, this amazing part of Australia is only a 2 hour flight from Perth. A great way to discover the sunset coast of Australia is by flying to Exmouth, hiring a car, van or 4WD and driving north. You'll run into some great Aussie towns such as Port Hedland, until you find the Pearl of the Kimberley, Broome.

Snorkel the waters of the Coral Coast and the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park with the Manta Rays and Sea Turtles. Take a flight over the extraordinary ancient rock formations of the Bungle Bungles and walk through the Pinnacles at Nambung National Park. Take a camel ride along the sands of Broome. Take the kids for a journey to the Jurassic preservations of Dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point. Venture to Monkey Mia and feed the families of local dolphins. Soak up the sun on one of Australia's favourites, Cable Beach, where by nightfall you might be lucky enough to encounter the staircase to the moon.
The central coastal area of Western Australia is known as the Coral Coast, because of the fringing coral reefs that lie just off-shore. These areas are just as impressive as the Great Barrier Reef (which is located on the east coast), but not nearly as crowded. At Ningaloo Reef you can swim with the biggest fish in the world, the whale shark, and feed wild dolphins at Monkey Mia. You can walk onto the reef right from the beach, making it perfect for the whole family to enjoy. In spring (Sep/Oct) the nearby desert areas burst into life with glorious wild-flower displays.
