Penang Holidays Planner
For a real taste of Penang you need to try the street food. From wok-fried flat noodles to spicy fish-flavoured curry laksa, the humble roadside stalls that dot the streets attract foodies from all over Malaysia. Shopping is also popular with tourists and visiting the traditional bazaars at Chorasts Market and the open-air pasar malam's which haphazardly pop up is a good opportunity to buy some interesting souvenirs. Although not as well known as Langkawi for its beaches, locations like Batu Ferringhi provide a much less crowded opportunity to relax under the sun.
Penang-View
Georgetown is the main city centre of Penang and is where the majority of its hotels and restaurants are located. With its old colonial shophouses, electric red lanterns and open air restaurants, Gurney Drive and Penang Road are particularly popular spots to soak in Penang life. To the West of the city, Tanjung Bungah and Teluk Bahang have a number of resorts that cater to travellers looking for a beachside holiday destination.
