Whistler Hotels & Holidays
Canada, North America
Whistler, to all appearances, is a small mountain hamlet tucked into the Coastal Mountain Range approximately an hour and a half away from Vancouver, British Columbia. At 675 metres above sea level, it's cooler than Vancouver, but immediately when you get to Whistler, you begin to notice differences. For one, even late into spring, there is snow on the ground, for another; there are a lot of people carrying snowboards or skis through the village.

Whistler Village proper is nestled at the base of Whistler-Blackcomb. Once these two mountains represented two separate ski resorts, but they merged in 1997 to form one resort. In 2010, many events in the Winter Olympics took place here at Whistler-Blackcomb and in celebration of this, the Peak 2 Peak Gondola was introduced, linking the two mountains with the world's largest gondola system.
With over two million visitors a year, the party rages at this resort town throughout the year and is a premier destination for skiers and non-skiers alike. If you want a chance to explore the great outdoors from a beautiful town with a lot of wonderful inns, hotels, and resources, Whistler is the place for you.
Whistler-Blackcomb represents the largest ski resort of its kind in North America. The ski resort of Whistler comes in at 1530 metres of vertical and Blackcomb at 1609 metres. There lift capacity is unparalleled, and there are over two hundred runs for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy. It's more than you can enjoy in a single day and different pass packages are available depending on how long you want to stay and enjoy what the mountains have to offer. With the Peak 2 Peak, you don't even have to go down the mountain before exploring the other resort.
There are a variety of ways to arrange your Whistler vacation. Whistler Village has many world class hotels, and there are also a lot of inns and bed and breakfasts if you prefer those options. Keep in mind that many of these local hotels partner with the ski resort to offer discounts on lift packages when you book with their hotel. Most hotels also offer wet rooms and lockers so that you don't have to bring your snow-laden equipment and snow suits up to your hotel room.
Whistler is an all-weather oriented resort. For much of the summer, there is glacier skiing for those interested in working on their tan as they ski, while there are plenty of world class mountain biking trails in the area to explore. There are many stores that can rent mountain bikes for those visitors who didn't think to pack their own.
Whether you are looking for an après-ski fondue or a gourmet French or Italian meal, there are a lot of different dining options in Whistler Village suited to any taste and budget.
