The capital city of Suva sits on a peninsula on the south east corner of Viti Levu. Surrounded by lush mountains and with a lovely harbour setting, Suva is a vibrant cosmopolitan city with lots of good shops, bars and nightclubs and a great museum. Unfortunately there is no beach and being windward receives a lot of rainfall. However, the villages inland from Suva in the highlands of Naitasiri and Namosi are amongst the most picturesque and traditional in Fiji and an overnight stay is highly recommended.
